MyGumasta ("we", "our", "us") operates the MyGumasta restaurant management platform — a web application and an Android app — designed for Indian small restaurants, dhabas, tiffin centres and cafés.
What we collect
- Restaurant owner: phone number (for OTP login), name, kitchen / restaurant details you enter (name, address, city, GSTIN, UPI ID).
- Staff you invite: phone number, name, role you assign.
- Customer: phone number and optional name they enter at your entrance QR, items they order, ratings and feedback they submit.
- Operations: dish menu, ingredient costs and recipes you enter, daily sales, fixed expenses, order history.
- Device: when you enable push notifications, we store the browser/device push endpoint to deliver alerts. We do not collect device IDs, location, or contacts.
How we use this data
- To operate your restaurant's dashboard, take orders, compute profit/loss, and send notifications.
- To let customers see their bill, pay via UPI, and leave feedback.
- To send marketing campaigns (WhatsApp links) only when you explicitly compose and tap-to-send each one.
- For AI-assisted features (menu scan, dish-name translation, message refinement) we send the relevant text or image to Google's Gemini API. Google's privacy terms apply to that processing.
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not share customer phone numbers with third-party advertisers.
- We do not access your device's location, contacts, photos, microphone, or camera unless you explicitly permit it through the browser/app (e.g. uploading a menu photo).
Data storage
Data is stored on servers we operate in India / managed cloud providers within Asia-Pacific (subject to change with notice). Authentication tokens are stored in your browser's localStorage and a session cookie.
Your rights (DPDP Act, 2023)
- Access — request a copy of the data we hold about your kitchen.
- Correction — fix anything that's wrong via the app, or contact us.
- Deletion — request deletion of your kitchen and all associated data. We will purge within 30 days.
- Grievance — contact us at the email below.
Children
MyGumasta is for restaurant operators and their customers. It is not directed at children under 18.
Changes
We will post any material changes here and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance.
